Solenca formed in 2005 when singer Claudia Kennaugh and guitarist Niki Mukhi combined Niki’s passion for World Music and Claudia’s love of Soul to form the fiery brand that is Solenca.

Joined by bassist Raphael White and drummer Pravin they recorded the album "Naked Elephant". On live gigs they are joined by fiery Shabaka Hutchings on Clarinet or the great Tom Challenger on Sax.
