Jon Cox
Based in: London
Jon made a name for himself as a bass guitar player at an early age playing with contempories such as Gwilym Simcock and Ivo Neame, before taking up the double bass on the master’s degree at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has performed with his own bands all over the UK and Europe, with appearances at most of London's major jazz venues (Jazz Cafe, Vortex, Pizza Express Dean Street, 606) as well as the London, Malta & Berlin Jazz Festivals.
In 2006 he began touring with Just Jack which saw him make notable appearances at many of Europe’s major festivals (Glastonbury, Rock En Seine, Lowlands, V, T in the Park), and TV appearances on programmes including Later with Jools Holland, TOTP and the Conan O’Brien Show in the US.
Jon has recently performed with All From The Mouth artist Shlomo in his Music Through Unconventional Means concert series at the Southbank, in collaborations with Polar Bear and Mad Professor.
